Cottolengo Centre for orphaned HIV positive children started in 1994, with the aim of taking care of vulnerable abandoned and  Orphaned children, who are either infected or affected by HIV+ in Nairobi. The Centre is managed by the Cottolengo Sisters in Kenya.

Sr. Consolata serves very demanding ministry of finance/accounting, but always keeps a warmth and joy about her. In her later years of life, she may consider pursuing project management as a career because of how much she enjoys proposal writing.

The Gift of Proposal Writing Skills Keeps on Giving

Drug abuse is a serious issue that is abolishing the dreams of our future generation. The youth are most vulnerable. That's why Catholic nuns like Sr. Felistas are providing drug rehabilitation and a stable environment for young boys to overcome their addictions.

May 3, 2017: [Kenya] SLDI mentee Sr. Catherine Wanza creates a biogas digester plant at Ukweli Home of Hope, allowing her to teach boys from the streets of Nairobi about sustainable agriculture and farming.

Sr. Eunice, one of the beneficiaries of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation SLDI Alumnae Signature Grant, secured the grant to purchase a Cervical Screening machine.

African Sisters in the Fight Against Cancer

Feb 4, 2017: [Nigeria] On World Cancer Awareness Day, ASEC would like to acknowledge the sisters working to prevent, treat and support individuals in their fight against cancer.

Women and girls spend several hours a day collecting water, often standing in baking heat. They then carry the heavy jerry cans home, either on their heads or tied to the end of poles.
